Long ago there was a king who had a beautiful
daughter. He loved her very much. Everyday the princess would sit by the old
palace well and toss a golden ball high in the air and let it drop. She loved
to play this game.
One day she accidentally tossed her
ball too high. When it came down she could not catch it. It fell deep into the
well. The princess began to cry. “why are you crying?” said a voice behind her.
The princess looked down. She saw a frog. “Oh, please, Frog,” said the
princess. ”I lost my ball down the well. If you bring it back to me, I’ll do
anything you want.” “anything at all?”asked the frog. “Yes, anything,” said the
princess.
So the frog dived into the well and
gave the ball back to the princess. “I don’t want money or property,” said a
frog. “Let me live with you and be a favourite friend.” The princess didn’t
really want to let the frog come and live with her as her favourite friend but
she was an honest princess. When she made a promise she kept it. So the frog
came back with her to the palace.
One day the princess discovered that
the frog had turned into a handsome prince so they got married and lived
happily ever after.

One morning, I got up with a feeling that the day was going
to be an unlucky one for me. How right it was I found that it was already 6:15
a.m.
I
rushed into the bath room. I didn’t see a piece of soap lying on the floor. I
stepped on it and I slipped almost breaking my back in the process.
Then, I went into dining room for my breakfast
and tea without realizing it was very hot.
It burnt my tongue. I spat it out nd could not eat anything because my tongue hurt. I got dressed and rushed to the bus shop.

Unfortunately, I just missed the bus.My
heart sank and I knew that I would be late for school.
When I reached school, my name was taken
down by the teacher. The teacher scolded me for being late. To my humiliation,
I was made to stand outside the class. I was so upset by the incident that I
could not study properly. But, worse to come.
After school, I was on my way home when
something hard hit me on the head. Someone had thrown a bag of fish bones out
of the window and landed on me! I was boiling with rage but could do nothing.
However, luckily for me, this only raised a small lump on my head.
I managed to reach home safe and sound and
did not dare to go out again for the rest of the days.
